Ferrara is well known for its people using the bike in their everyday life.
The extension of the city is on the wide plane of the river Po. The walled Renaissance and Medieval city centre invites for a relaxing bike ride on top of the walls, along Diamanti Palace, the Square dedicated to the poet Ludovico Ariosto, the Massari park of The Garden of the Finzi Continis. The ride takes the visitor to the Este Castle, the Cathedral, the old Jewish ghetto, the narrow merchants’ lanes, to convents and monasteries, mansions, gardens, and churches. The visitor will be introduced to the local economy, social life, architecture and art.
This tour is suggested in spring and summer, for families with young children, bike lovers, and visitors wanting to discover Giorgio Bassani’s world.
